Chaplain Lee Butler to Speak at Youth Banquet
Chaplain Lee Butler of Big Spring State Hospital will address the Presbyterian Church youth banquet on Wednesday May 16. He has pastored churches in Texas and Colorado and is married with three children including a high school senior. Rev. David Northcutt notes Butler is officially Baptist but often preaches in Presbyterian churches. The year end event for junior and senior high runs weekly with scripture study ethics dating and related topics followed by a light meal and a choir. Butler has served since June 1967.

The Guadalupanas plan the annual Mother of the Year dance this Saturday at 8 30 p m in Santa Rosa Hall. A panel of eight women will be voted for the honor by attendees, with Mrs Belen Natividad to present a bouquet to the new Mother of the Year. A Sunday solemn mass by Rev Leoni will honor the newly elected Mother of 1973.

Catholics celebrate independence from France with a two day program at Santa Rosa Hall including a Saturday dance and Sunday night national dances and variety show.
