Burglars Make Expensive Raids Across Pecos Areas
Police investigate multiple burglaries with an estimated 10 000 in losses. The largest theft involved 13 color televisions valued near 6 000 wholesale at R S Electronics. A separate break in at East Texas Motor Freight yielded clothing ceramics walkie talkies and radios. Police stopped a vehicle after a Sunday burglary report and arrested two suspects. Ongoing probes include Pecos Sporting Goods guns and gear thefts and stolen calculators and a CB radio from a Cedar Street lounge vehicles. Absentee Balloting Draws High Interest in Pecos Area
Voters show strong turnout as absentee ballots near close at 5 p.m. Tuesday for Pecos Barstow Toyah school board and Pecos city mayor and council elections. Pecos County clerk Catherine Ashley administers county school board absentee voting from courthouse. Over 230 absentee votes cast for the Pecos-Barstow-Toyah school board race by noon. Over 170 city ballots cast with six city candidates and three mayor seats on the ballot. County school board post has five candidates and 95 absentee ballots the final day remains.
