Battle on the Texas plains near Fort McIntosh
On Christmas day 1850 a party of rangers led by Lt. Burleson ambushed a band of Comanches along the San Antonio and Laredo road. In close combat, Burleson was wounded, Barker Barton and Jimmie Carr killed or wounded, and the Comanches retreated after fourteen were killed or wounded.
