Denied by commission plans dropped for Pecos apartments
The Pecos City Council set a March 23 public hearing on a zone change for an apartment complex but the applicant Alton Hughes told Mayor Bickley the proponents would not appeal the zoning commission's unanimous denial. Adjacent property owners opposed the plan, involving AR-2 to AR-3 rezone of Veteran's Park parcels. The council also discussed bids for a Park Street drain ditch lot, a lot sale at Walnut and 5th, and access gates for Foxworth-Galbraith property. Nine other items included city parks planning input and renewed appointment of Dr. E W Schmidt as health officer. The Police Department investigation transcripts were updated with a third, awaiting two more.
