Texas & Pacific Receiv ing New Equipment Update
The Texas and Pacific Railway reports eight of a large batch of new locomotives arrived at Marshall Shops with finishing work. More engines depart the Locomotive Works weekly and the full consignment should be on the line by April 1. Pacific type passenger engines feature boosters for increased power, oil burners, feed-water heaters and high speed potential up to 60 mph with 12 Pullmans. Total engine and tender weight is 466000 pounds with a 49000 pound booster traction, 82 feet length, tender capacity 9000 gallons of water and 3290 gallons of oil.
