Second largest Vietnam troop cut announced by US Command
The US Command unveiled the second biggest troop reduction of the Vietnam War leaving under 10,000 American combat infantry and artillery in Saigon Cam Ranh Bay and Da Nang regions. The cut affects 32 Army units and one Air Force detachment, including the 2nd Squadron 11th Armored Cavalry and 5th Battalion 42nd Artillery.

Sul Ross Students Teach in Pecos Schools
Eight Sul Ross State University seniors begin a teaching practicum in Pecos schools through May 5. Local youths win gifts at Houston Livestock Show calf scramble
Reeves County H Club youths Cecil Lee Ken Durham and Jimmy Gallego were among 12 boys awarded $200 gift certificates to buy a registered beef calf after securing halters in the calf scramble. County Agent Paul Tapp will guide their calf preparation for next year’s show as the 40th anniversary rodeo continues.

Pecos schools schedule open houses from March 6 through March 10 in observance of Texas Annual Public Schools Week.
