LULAC Council Plans 20th Annual Coronation Dance
The Ladies League of United Latin American Citizens hosts its 20th annual LULAC Queen Coronation Dance on Saturday July 1 at Santa Rosa Hall. Candidates include Hilda Arredondo Nancy Bitolas Brenda Navarrette and Prissy Perea with Miss Carlotta Granado presiding as Mistress of Ceremony. Dancing runs 8:30 pm to 1 am with crowning at 10 pm. Special invite extends to reunion attendees.

Loyd Oden son of Mr and Mrs Bill Oden 1419S Eddy was named on the Dean's Honor List at Sul Ross State University for the 1978 spring semester. He is a Sul Ross senior pursuing a double major in industrial arts and health and physical education and plans to graduate in July 1979. To qualify for the dean's list a student must have at least 15 semester hours and a 3.0 GPA.

Market pauses near two month low as Dow gains

Two Vehicle Crash Leads To Citations And Damages
A 1973 Pontiac Granada driven by Wanda Faye Williams collides with a 1971 Plymouth Fury I driven by Alfredo Misco Orosco. Williams receives a citation for failure to yield at 3 20 p m on June 15. Damages from two separate windshield break-ins on a 1971 Dodge Charger and a 1970 Chevrolet are estimated at 250 each, with investigations continuing. Ambulance and transfer services report calls on June 23 and a transfer from Reeves County Hospital to Odessa.

Pecos Resident Receives Juris Doctor Degree at Texas Tech
Jack Louis McGowen of Pecos earned the Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech University School of Law in May. He also holds a 1974 BBA from Texas Tech. McGowen was among 107 graduates.
