Six convicted in Pecos immigration case pleas
Two U S citizens and four Mexican citizens pleaded guilty in Pecos before U S Magistrate J M Preston on misdemeanor counts under immigration law. Cabarubio and Beltran Quintena received one year unsupervised probation after six months in prison and $50 fines. Ramirez Ortiz Marquez Herrera Saucedo Calderon received 179 days each. Navarrete Puentes got 60 days. Ramirez Ortiz had additional drunk driving violations. Marquez Herrera was granted voluntary return.

Members of the Civil Air Patrol Pecos Composite Squadron express appreciation to Pecos merchants for funding a squadron bus enabling cadet transport to CAP functions across West Texas. Donors include The Disco Way, Hubbs Office Supply, Nik Nak Grocery, Trans-Pecos Grain, Holiday Inn, and others. CAP notes local National Guard drilled cadets for the U.S. Air Force SAR test on June 23, with Pecos cadets ranking tops in order drill functions and discipline.
