Pecos Valley Southern Railuites a colorful history
Pecos Valley Southern Rail, a 40 mile short line from Pecos to Toyahvale, reflects the rise and decline of rural Texas rail. From 1909 chartering to 1921 opening, it served Balmorhea Saragosa and Toyahvale with cattle hay and cotton freight, aided by Reeves ownership after 1946, until abandonment and partial wreckage of the line.
