Protestant Catholic Groups Name Top Films
The second annual Protestant Catholic motion picture award honored two films In The Heat of the Night and The Battle of Algiers with joint citations from the BFC and NCOMP. Separate awards went to other films, led by Bonnie and Clyde as best year for mature audiences, a choice met with some Catholic dissent while NCOMP praised it as a folk epic challenging viewers to confront violence.
