Simpson and Cravens wed in June Presbyterian ceremony
Vickie Lynn Simpson became the bride of Michael Roy Cravens on June 7 at 7 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Northcutt officiating. The couple’s parents are Harold Simpson of 519 Oleander St. and Roy Cravens of Taylor. The ceremony featured two carved wooden tables with pink gladioli, gold candelabra, and music by Roger Medanich Kay and Christi Harp and Glendon Brewster. The bride wore an Edwardian peau de soie gown designed by Helen Hagar, with lace sleeves and bodice, seed pearl trim, a floor-length veil, and carried gardenias and stephanotis. She wore a gold ring of her great-great-grandmother as something old, a gown and veil as something new, a sister’s gold ring as something borrowed, and a blue garter as something blue, with a sixpence in her shoe for luck. June Sharp served as maid of honor in a mint green floral dress.
