The Supreme Court refused to review a 5th Circuit ruling that tightens how the EEOC can sue private employers. The decision requires proving the bias affects many employees before broad relief can be sought, potentially hindering anti discrimination efforts, especially for small employers.

Financial disclosure bill gains traction in Congress
Supporters say a sweeping financial disclosure bill is nearing final passage after Congressmen disclosed their finances. The measure would require disclosures from the president, top aides, and federal judges, in addition to lawmakers. House action is expected late this month or in July as Senate already approved its version. Rep. Richardson Preyer notes past resistance due to fears of sensationalization by reporters but believes that issue has diminished.
