Sul Ross receives late writer H Allen Smith library
The Potts Sibley Foundation and Sul Ross State University acquire the personal library of humorist H Allen Smith. Smith lived in Alpine with his wife Nelle from 1967 until his death this year. Dr Elton Miles says the collection covers literary humor biography history travel language and Southwest studies and offers a strong resource for students and the Alpine area. Meredith and Richardson accept the collection on behalf of the university with Dr D J Sibley present. Mrs Sibley unable to attend due to commitments with the Austin Symphony.
