Ellsberg break in cited as national security inquiry
Ehrlichman testified before the Senate Watergate committee quoting Nixon about the 1971 Ellsberg break in as a vital national security inquiry. He said Nixon did not authorize the action and would have opposed it if informed, while Ehrlichman defended hidden information as necessary for government secrets. He admitted limited authorizations for wiretaps and denied personal guilt, noting a plan to fire bomb the Brookings Institution was derailed at Deans request. The report also covers local Pecos attendance at the UTPB Info Mobile event and campus plans for a new university facility.
