ABILENE Texas Friends and family packed the Estes home for a 25th wedding anniversary reception six days after Billie Sol Estes, former Pecos resident and fraud convict, was released on parole from La Tuna prison. About 600 attendees from several states attended. Estes wrote 250 invitations before release and 350 more were sent by his daughters. Estes appeared thinner and more youthful as he greeted guests with a smile while his wife received a rose as an anniversary gift.

P. M. Juan Maulding 62 a Barstow area farmer died Friday night at Pecos Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were held this morning at Pecos Funeral Home with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. He was born in Ira on May 28 1909 and moved to Barstow as an infant. Survived by his wife Audie two sisters Mrs C J Lee Pecos and Mrs John A Hamilton Chandler Ariz two nephews and three nieces.
