Pecos Rotary honors Dr Schmidt for 16 years of perfect attendance
Dr E W Schmidt, a Pecos physician and long time Rotary member, received a plaque at a Thursday luncheon in recognition of 16 years of perfect attendance. He joined in May 1949 and recalls missing only once in two decades during a snowstorm near Roswell New Mexico. He has traveled widely for Rotary makeup meetings from New Zealand to New York City and served as local club president 1956 57 and district governor 1961 62.

Budget hearing date set by Pecos ISD for 1972-73
At the regular board meeting on Thursday August 10 the Pecos Barstow Independent School District scheduled a public hearing on its 1972-73 budget and announced gasoline bids for school bus service.
