State Building Commission selects Dallas firm for finance building
The State Building Commission awarded a $5,050,000 contract to R.E. McKee General Contractors Inc of Dallas for a new State Finance Building in the Capitol Complex. McKee was the low bidder among seven. bids ranged to $5,328,000. Construction starts February 1, and this is the third major office building in the complex.

Funeral services were held yesterday at 11 a.m. at Santa Rosa Catholic Church for 92 year old Mrs Sophia Contreras Navarro. She died Wednesday at 2 25 a.m. in Pecos Nursing Home. Burial followed at Santa Rosa Cemetery under Pecos Funeral Home supervision. A Texas resident born in Mexico she is survived by several nieces and nephews.
