Calm Gulf Coast refineries report normal output amid strike
Oil refinery officials say Gulf Coast operations remain calm and production at normal levels despite an OCAW walkout. Supervisors manned plants in Texas coast refineries, including Arco and Shell facilities, with no interruptions expected. A Texaco Port Arthur disturbance involved rock throwing at catering trucks but caused no injuries and no arrests. Health care benefits dispute fuels the strike, though energy reserves and gasoline supply remain unaffected.
