A total lunar eclipse will be visible over the continental United States and Canada as the moon enters and leaves Earth’s shadow. Totality lasts from 2:03 to 3:26 a.m. EST with the eclipse beginning at 12:52 a.m. and ending around 4:37 a.m. local time.

Among the stolen items is a misminted bill showing ten dollars on one side and one on the reverse, police said. The museum sits on the RCA Building ground floor facing Avenue of the Americas.
A cleaning worker at Radio City Music Hall in New York discovered a concealed explosive under a seat. She partially dismantled the device after noting its weight and wrapper, then alerted security. Police say the device carried explosive powder and a wristwatch timer with wiring and three micro flash bulbs.
A magnitude 6 to 6.5 earthquake struck at 6 01 am causing two deaths in the Midnight Mission building and widespread damage across Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. The Golden State Freeway closed and San Fernando dam evacuated as aftershocks followed.

AP wires report the Railway Clerks Union declares a nationwide rail strike will begin at 12:01 a.m. EST March 1 unless action is taken. In Jerusalem, Premier Golda Meir says Israel will aid reopening the Suez Canal but will withdraw forces from the east bank only with Egypt peace.
Secretary of Defense Laird told the Senate Armed Services Committee the Saigon led Laos drive is on schedule as the United States plans to withdraw 50,000 more troops by May 1. He said about 10,000 U.S. troops in South Vietnam act as backup, and that Laos operation remains limited and on time. Rogers also agreed to brief on Indochina war developments in a closed Foreign Relations hearing.
West of the Pecos forecast calls for fair weather tonight and Wednesday. Tonight will be rather cold with lows around 15 to 30. Wednesday should bring a little warmer temperatures with highs from 52 to 68.
