Lakers settle undisclosed damages with Rockets over Tomjanovich injury

Los Angeles Lakers agree to a sealed settlement with the Houston Rockets ending a $1.8 million damages suit arising from Rudy Tomjanovichs injuries after a Dec. 9, 1977 punch by Kermit Washington. The first suit awarded $3.3 million to Tomjanovich. the second suit sought $900,000 in actual and $900,000 in punitive damages.
