Feeding Test Is Plan at Station Near Balmorhea
The S00-acre experiment station near Balmorhea plans to secure about 60 head of cattle from New Mexico or Texas within 15 to 20 days for feeding trials. Manager J. Bayles has toured College Station, while the station develops feed tests for the Madera valley using hegari as the best feed. The station, operating since 1921, showcases zinnias, a red barn, and alfalfa trials amid heat, reflecting local debates on alfalfa versus high priced cotton and northern seed discrimination.
