Sydney’s many charms and changing skyline noted in a travel piece
A pictorial tour of Sydney highlights its harbor beauty, beaches, nightlife, and sport, while noting the city’s rapid growth from a convict port to a 2.7 million population. It covers cost of living, food, and drink, landmarks like the Queen Victoria Building, and the unfinished opera house, with a nod to local attitudes toward change and preservation. The piece contrasts old neighborhoods with new high rises and points out budget considerations for American travelers.
