Permit delay may halt Bayport chemical plant
A B F Goodrich spokesman said a construction permit delay could force relocation of a $200 million chemical plant project at Bayport. Bechtel joins Goodrich in the plan, which would employ about 200 workers. Texas site and two Louisiana sites are under review with a decision due in September. The delay stems from five weeks of Texas Air Control Board hearings. The Galveston Bay Conservation opposes the permit.
