Skelly Oil Co filed an application to drill No 246 S M Halley as a 3/4 mile northwest outpost to Montoya gas production and to offset Devonian gas production in the Halley multipay field Winkler County. The site is set at 11 000 feet, 1 320 feet from the north and west lines of section 17 block B 11 PSL survey nine miles south of Kermit. The field includes two Montoya wells and 29 Devonian gas wells.
The Delaware Basin roundup lists Adobe Oil Co drilling below 17 420 feet near Barstow and Fusselman, with drillstem tests surfacing gas and water blankets and rising flows up to 6.1 million cu ft per day.
