Remarkable sleep disturbance ends inquest verdict
At the City of London Coroner's Court an inquest heard of Mrs Mary Ann Dobbs of Russell Street who became sleepily prone six months before her death at St. Bartholomew's Hospital. Her husband described prolonged bouts of sleepiness including dozing at breakfast and while walking, culminating in a fatal accident when she slept and fell against a coal scuttle. The coroner noted a Dickens Fat Boy comparison as medical evidence pointed to natural causes, and a verdict of natural causes was returned.
