Pine Strawberry Junior High Qualifies for State Chess Tournament
Pine Strawberry Junior High chess team led by coach Bob Ritter qualified for the State Tournament in Phoenix after a strong Region One effort in Flagstaff. Janet Myers won four of five games on Second Board, earning a ribbon, with four team members achieving three wins or more to meet the state berth.
