Real Estate man D. P. Donovan of the Parvite Land Company returned from Omaha where he spent weeks promoting Payette Valley as a fruit region. He reported many Easterners see the valley as a prime homeseekers destination and expect to visit when conditions improve.

Portia Club Invites Members to Beptember Meeting at Mrs Ervin's

The Portia Club invites old and new members to a Monday afternoon meeting at Mrs. Ervin's with a first and second prize for a five minute talk on club needs. Those without transport meet at the Y M C A. those with transport call the secretary to arrange rides.

Week for prune shippers notes brisk packing

Last week saw heavy prune movement from Payette with three to five cars daily and twenty-five cars plus one car of cantaoupes billed out on Saturday. Melons and prunes lead, with apples next as Jonathan picking and packing have begun.

McDermid Harris Nuptials At St James Episcopal

Last Thursday at seven a Miss Jean McDermid married Robert Harris at St James Episcopal Church Boise officiated by Rev Deas Smith of St Michaels Cathedral. After the ceremony guests congratulated the couple and then departed in an automobile for Payette Heights. The groom is a brother of Michael Harris and a substantial valley citizen. They plan to reside on Payette Heights upon their return and are welcomed by many friends.

City Hall Location Debate Ends Without Decision

City council adjourned without settling where to place the city hall. The meeting approved Ordinance No. 06 granting power to condemn sidewalks and approved a franchise for Greenwood Avenue Irrigation Company to pipe water along Seventh Avenue North to allow sidewalk construction. Debate touched on future city hall site, with a mass meeting to be held Friday night September 29.

Kathleen Shelton hosted a lumber party honoring Miss Peart Andrews. Walter Chapin to Portland for pharmaceutical studies. Patrons of Compton’s Pharmacy will miss Walter at the soda fountain this year.
