The Northwest grain crop shows a strong rise with wheat totaling 78,590,000 bushels versus 66,750,000 last year. Idaho wheat 18,150,000. Oregon 25,220,000. Washington 41,160,000. Oats total 31,030,000 bushels and barley 14,300,000.
A group of Civil War veterans met at the BF Swatman home in East Boulevard on Saturday October 26 in honor of Orderly Sergeant O R Strong of Garfield Washington visiting his son Professor C. Strong. Participants included O R Strong John Neal S F Taylor J M Robinson H F Knight and others. They shared reminiscences had a bounteous dinner and received autographs noting ages units and service histories.
On Wednesday evening last, the M. G. A. Glee Club traveled by car to the residence of B. C. Blakesley. Seventeen members attended a feast featuring chicken, cakes, buns, coffee, and elder, provided by Blakesley. The outing concluded with a joyful sing after a fine supper.

After bond disposal delays, the county commissioners finalize a deal with Forbes & Co. Caldwell. The contract for the Fruitland New Plymouth and Letha bridges is let. construction to begin soon and be in use before high water next spring.
The sisters of W. T. Sherman Woman's Relief Corps No. 17 express heartfelt sympathy to the family of Anna Margaret Sinker who passed from their home. A copy of the resolutions is sent to the bereaved family, the Payette papers, and placed on Relief Corps records, signed by Mary A. Shawhan Rose R. Paine Kittie M. Cuppernull.
School reports show Miss Berry leading junior German with Storm’s im mensee studied. Norman Holden returns for post grad work as seniors prep for Halloween party at Farson. Payette football setback for Edward Moan, second team to play Weiser. seniors and juniors noted amid cards and events.
The German Evangelical Church hosts Sunday morning memorial services for the Reformation led by Pastor O. Heggemeier. Evening English services follow at 7 30 with a special Y M C A messenger presenting election returns.

The Washoe school fair and opening, once set for October 31 to November 2, is postponed to November 14 to 16 due to heating plant installation and building completion issues. The club plans a piano fund and continued community efforts, with a focus on parliamentary law study, clothing for a children’s home, and vegetable and fruit drives. new members Cox and Ingle join, next meeting November 11.
Voters in the West Fayette precinct will cast ballots next Tuesday at the Cold Storage Building. The notice lists polling sites, registration deadlines, and a bridge-site inspection by H. McWonnell and J. Forbes.

Wil Riley of the Commercial Hotel was called to Portland by telegram for a sister’s illness. a death notice followed. Russell Department Store begins special blanket sale next Saturday. Mrs R Shaw returned from Guthrie Oklahoma after news of her sister’s illness and subsequent death.
Daisy Crump hosted the eighth grade at her Central Building home on Second Avenue North last Friday evening. Students gathered by 7:80 and enjoyed wholesome silent games, followed by a lunch at 10 where Daisy Crump and Francis Moan performed duets. Guests left praising her hospitality and the delightful gathering.
The BLB church will start a three part sermon series titled Building the Brotherhood. The first message The Architecture is set for next Sunday morning followed by The Material and The Construction in subsequent Sundays. An evening talk Mirage and the Pool is planned at T.O. All are invited and election returns noted. A blanket sale at Russell Department Store and a lost gold watch with Waltham works are also mentioned.
