Commercial Club Holds Session Passes Resolution on Rail Commission

The Payette Commercial Club met Monday with routine business and decisive action. A three member committee will devise a plan to allow boys handling fruit at passenger trains to sell only first class fruit at a profit. The club rejected a state railway commission for now and backed a 440000 immigration bureau appropriation. They also planned a Fruit car shipment to Council Bluffs and endorsed joining the League of Southern Idaho Clubs.

University of Idaho Notes Players and Members

At present there are several Payette students enrolled at the University of Idaho. Forward Ales Tet Strboehn plays mandolin with the mandolin club, guard Harry Hinnteen shows promise on the varsity team, and he scored well against Lewiston Normal last Saturday. Robert Burne is pledged to Sigma, with Lester Alport and Floyd Quinby also in the fraternity. F.C. Bates of New Plymouth joined the Odd Fellows special for Sand Point, and the New Plymouth judge attended the Grand Lodge session.

Blair buys 75 acres of Washoe fruit land near Payette Valley

B A Blair, after selling his Fruitland orchard at $900 per acre, secures 75 acres of Shamberger estate fruit land in Washoe via Wells and Maule. He wires 1,000 Clargeau pear trees from a California nursery, 800 Arkansas Black, 400 White Winter Pearmain from George Fenner, and plans 1,000 Rome Beauty trees. He aims to begin planting this fall, near the Payette Valley Driving Club and Payette post office.

Y M C A Notes Highlight Music Program and Social

The Y M C A notes a men s meeting next Sunday at 2 30 p m with Rev L W Kyles speaking, the glee club providing music, and Prof T R Neilson leading the orchestra and chorus.
