Car Load Apple Exhibit for Gouncil Bluffs Show
The Commercial club committee collects a car load of apples for the Nations Horticultural Show in Council Bluffs. Prominent pledges include C H Lanfear 27 boxes and J Hostettler 55 among others. about 500 boxes pledged so far with a goal to ship within two or three days and store with Bloomer Ice Company. A committee will supervise the display and, after expenses, proceeds will be pro rated among contributors.

Bird Man to Demonstrate Flight at State Fair
Art C. Tunison, serial navigator, will conduct daily flights in a ninety horse power Blerlot monoplane across the channel at the state fair. Weighing 867 pounds, the craft arrived in Boise last week and will be shown with explanations of its mechanism. The display, already a star attraction at Tacoma and Walla Walla fairs, promises daily flights and educational demonstrations for visitors.

Excursion to Payette Valley Extension Impresses Emmett Visitors
The first excursion from Burmett to Payette ran last Thursday drawing over 100 Emmett residents to view Payette’s orchards laden with ripe fruit. The Payette show featured fruit grains and poultry with a Flemish pear winning first prize. Afternoon races and a carnival company added to the lively visit as the train returned after nine.

Rapid progress on Snake River irrigation plant aims to water 7000 acres
Work on the Snake River Irrigation Company power plant to irrigate 7000 acres of Dead Ox fat land tributary to Payette progresses rapidly. Equipment shipped October first will reach Payette. testing will begin within ten days and any defects corrected. If all goes well, water could reach the spring fields, with plans to build a second plant three miles downstream to lift water higher for additional land. Engineer F. M. Housh says winter weather may allow completing the second plant by June to provide irrigation next spring, but it remains uncertain. The company has twenty men a crew and expects rapid progress with in-ground equipment and experience.
