Residents praise sanitary laws in Payette inspection

Deputy Inspector J. B. Wallis completed a sanitary inspection in Payette last Thursday afternoon and praised resident cooperation. Dr. J. C. Woodward will implement the changes, and local dairies McWilliams and Fairview are expected to become model operations. The vinegar factory and two meat peddling wagons were halted until compliant. Payette lost a football game to Nampa 6 to 0 with Captain McClanahan leading the defense. Walker suffered a broken collarbone late in the game.

Fractures Collar Bone In Scrimmage at Nampa

In a Saturday scrimmage between Nampa and Payette High Schools, Payette halfback Paul Walker fractured his collar bone. The fracture was reduced in Nampa, but shifted on the train ride home and had to be reduced again on arrival. Walker is left handed, making the injury particularly severe, but is progressing toward use of his good arm.

City Council Minutes Move to Quit Claim Sixth Street

The council met in regular session and approved the previous minutes. They ordered a quit claim deed for twenty feet of Sixth Street donated to Payette Cold Storage Company and instructed the water works committee to prepare the old pumping plant upriver to supply the city reservoir. The old pump and engine will be cleaned and readied for winter use when ice blocks the ditch and water power is needed.

Thanksgiving Services at Local Churches

Thanksgiving services will be held Sunday morning at the Methodist and Baptist churches. Christians from the two denominations are urged to meet at the Methodist church and Presbyterians and Baptists at the Baptist church.
