Commercial Club Hears Fair Report and Road Plan

Regular meeting of the Commercial Club reports funds from the fair exhibit, notes photos from the Bolya display, and discusses appointing a delegate to the Irrigation Congress in Chicago. The club also votes to investigate improving the Little Willow to Big Willow road, appointing W H Platt, Wm Noot, and W A Coughanour to study the matter.

Payette Second Team Routs Weiser Second Team 12 to 0

Payette High School second team dominated Weiser's second team 12 to 0 on Saturday. The Payette squad showed class, steadied after early fumbles, and generated most of the action in Weiser territory. Steffin, Holden, and ONeill stood out as the top performers as league standings mix. Next Saturday Payette hosts Boise in a heated rivalry clash that could settle league positioning.

City Council Adopts Park Beautification Plan and Fountains

The city council held a regular session last Monday evening to discuss installing two fountains and beautifying the park. The park commission plan was adopted and a survey was ordered. The council planned to reconvene Friday evening to finish unfinished business.

Hoboes Overrun Payette Prompt Special Raid Ordered

Payette city leaders convened after a week of depredations. A search uncovered hobos camps near the oil derrick and Radio factory and a grip with stolen shoe samples. Mayor Brannock ordered a Thursday morning raid driving many from the city and directing property owners to nail up enclosures to bar camps.

Snow and Moody Inspect Irrigation Plant Progress

Mecare Snow and Moody of the Snow Moody Company inspect the irrigation project water works. They report the canal and laterals nearing completion and the power house foundation finished with brick work starting this week. The big dredge is being remodeled and extra horses will speed top removal. Overall progress is favorable with water expected on hundreds of acres of Dead Ox Flat in spring.

A touring company described as among the largest on the road will present the musical comedy The Love Tales of Hoffman at the Wheaton Theatre in Woelner Tuesday evening. High School Notes Highlight Weekend Events

The annual chicken pie supper in the Jacobsen building drew lively attendance and raised funds for the High School Association. Miss Jennie Van Engelen was absent sick for a week. Payette and Weiser high schools played a test game in Weiser with Payette taking honors. A Sophomore Party in Daly's Hall showcased baby and freshman costumes, with chaperones Mr Mathews and Mr Hargrove appearing as grandpa and Uncle Hiram respectively. The event featured a playful baby-picture identification activity.

Methodist Episcopal Church Notes Sunday School and Epworth League

Walinger Lingers In Hospital After Valley Accident

C W Parker, about forty five, claims serious injuries from a Payette Valley Railroad crash. Doctors find no wounds, noting atrophy in left arm and leg but deeming him able to walk. He sought bed lodging at Woodward Hospital, while officials assess his claim of pain and disability.
