Idaho Liberty Loan State Committee invites Idaho school children under 18 to submit ten word slogans for the Third Liberty Loan drive. Entries must include name, address, and school, and be received by April 6 1918. The winner receives a $100 U S Bond funded by the Idaho Bankers Association.

Payette County hosts a large patriotic rally on Saturday April 6 marking the war entry anniversary and the start of the Third Liberty Loan drive. Community stunned as Mrs Mire H H Day died suddenly after a week of illness. Born Rebecca Elizabeth Irwin in 1853, she married H H Clay in 1872 and lived in Idaho. Funeral held at home Wednesday at 2 pm with relatives from Boise New Meadows and Payette in attendance.

Federal order cuts flour use with strict limits
The Federal Food Administration orders further flour reductions. Purchases are capped at twenty four pounds per person in towns, forty eight pounds for royal customers, with an equal weight of substitutes required. No flour may be sold without the corresponding substitutes. Households must limit wheat products to one and one half pounds weekly per person, with a daily cap of half a pound for manual laborers. Public eating places keep two wheatless days plus small portions per guest. Bakers and grocers should reduce victory bread to three quarter pounds and limit purchases to seventy percent of prior four months. Substitutes increase on April fourteenth by twenty five percent. Manufacturing wheat use for nonfood must stop. No limits on other cereals. Citizens urged to endure restrictions for the harvest season.
