Payette Cold Storage C expands its plant by gutting and refurbishing rooms to add eighty thousand board feet of storage. Col Muller contracts for fifty car peaches from Emmett country as demand grows, and a cork insulated addition will equip the facility with up to date cold storage methods, making the city home to a premier Northwest site.
Last Friday D. Spaulding and T. Landon hosted a large number of their residents at 1007 First Avenue South. Guests enjoyed an evergreen and rose decorated porch and rooms, a bower filled dining room, and luncheon with pansy centerpieces. Delegates and society members from Payette Grand Chapter, Lorraine Chapter, and Portia attended, with honors and elections noted among attendees.
F H Hogue western representative of Denney and Co fruit distributors went to Boise to arrange for opening quarters in the Idaho building. S D Smith secretary of the Boise Fruit Growers Association will run the Boise house. The firm has contracted Wilson Fruit Company orchard in Boise Valley, owners Neilson and Jolley of Emmett, estimating forty thousand boxes. The Boise HQ will not affect Hogue’s Payette Valley work as he will keep Payette as headquarters.
At a regular meeting the city council ordered steel doors for city hall vaults and the fireproof vault in the hall to store city records, purchased from Meser Safe and Lock Company. Engineer Paldwin’s report on power possibilities was discussed and a committee was formed to continue work. The June Mission Circle met on June th, 2530 at the Christian church to discuss work, people, and the country. Reilly & Farber dissolved their Commercial Hotel partnership. repairs and renovations planned. Ministers Rev. Surber and family noted. funeral announced for 3 PM at the church.
June 24 to August 2 1942 at Summer Normal School Boise Idaho authorizes reduced rates on the certificate plan with agents for particulars. G F Johnson of Ast Presbyterian Church preaches next Sundays morning Election and evening Doubt Honest. Rudess Society members plan to attend State Convention with New Plymouth Friday Saturday Sunday. Miss Blaksle Miss Lanes Miss Myrna Kenward and others will go. L W Russell of Russell Department Store departs for Glenwood Iowa then New York Chicago Cincinnati to purchase fall goods.

At the Second District Federation of Women's Club convention in Boise Mrs. J. McGlinchey was elected president and Mrs. Wm Maule secretary. McGlinchey also earned a national convention delegate spot in San Francisco. Both are longtime Portia Club members from Payette.
