Sage hens and grouse hunting banned in Idaho counties
On July 17, 1924, Idaho Game Warden R E B Thomas declared twenty counties closed to sage hens and grouse hunting under sections 2793 2794. The order protects birds endangered by extinction and remains in force until revoked with published notice. Violations incur penalties under state fish and game laws. Davenport family completes 2000 mile trip to Pacific coast

They traveled via the Columbia highway through Portland and Kelso Washington to the coast and Seaside then Kelso and Longview. They saw a 30 acre covered saw mill and visited Tacoma Olympia and other nearby points before returning home via Pendleton Walla Walla Lewiston. Bootleggers duel with Payette officers leads to injuries
Two bootleggers Fred Duball and H R Hickman were wounded during a gun battle with Payette county officers after a staged liquor drop east of Ontario Fruitland. Robinson escaped.
