The second annual picnic at Coates ranch drew many from Payette Fruitland Beach and Oregon. Attendees enjoyed a noon dinner, free eaters, and cigars, with speeches by J. Ro McKinnee M. F. Albert and Calvin Kajler prior to Miles Cannons address. Activities included Tug-of-War foot races bucking broncos outdoor dances and a long evening under the trees.

A disastrous blaze in Ontario early Tuesday evening damaged the Argus Printing Office and nearby Boyer Brothers warehouse. The fire, likely started around 4 pm, heavily damaged machinery and paper stock. Payette Fire Department responded within thirty minutes.
