Jimmerson Brothers, leading melon growers, bring in the first crates of ripe cantaloupes to Enterprise Meat Market. Melon ripening this year is two weeks ahead of any previous year, with a large ranch north of the city yielding a fine stand. The entire crop should be moving by August 1st in good shape.
The article recounts a ten day Bible class outing by Tecolote Church youths to a canyon near Squaw Creek with pack trains. It lists participants including Banks Kinnison Ross Darnell Henry Blomstrom Vernon Maxfield Earl Shamberger Albert Hill and others. The Emma Theatre will be completed for opening night on Friday July 29 with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Y M C A presenting the Spinster Convention a comic and musical program. Mayor W A Coughanour donated the opera house for one evening to raise funds for the Kilchen Nein coom and Taine gunvuncements of an event sure to draw interest and amusement. The entire production will feature local talent.
D W Miney, a respected Payette and Canyon County resident, announces intent to seek the Republican nomination for county assessor at the January election. He is described as diligent, mature in judgment, and well qualified for the position. Also noted are local ads for a summer sale and a cantaloupe sundae feature at the Palace.
Land man Pitch secures control and platting for sale of 46 lots on Riverside avenue Payette. Each lot priced at 400 with 200 down and 10 monthly for twenty months. Drawn numbers assign first choice. all lots sold. Viewing by B R Fitch and listed offices.
The pastor preaches 11 o'clock services on vacation subjects. Last Sunday’s topic was A Mountain Trip and next Sunday will be Am Interesting Sea Voyage. Later topics include A Journey to the Oldest City In the World and At the Seashore. Evening services are discontinued. Sunday School at 10:00 and Christian Endeavor at 7:00.

It discusses a proposed merger carefully considered by the Bible school and church board and voted on by the congregation. If approved it will take effect the first Sunday in August.
James Wells aged 15 drowns while swimming with six boys in the Boise river near Caldwell. Efforts to rescue failed. an examination ruled accidental drowning. Wells is the son of Jesse Wells, with mother and three sisters at home. father away at Squaw Creek.

The Booster Band will hold its weekly concert on Saturday night instead of Wednesday. The program for July 22 features March Our Nation's Pride by Hal Miller, The Burgomaster by Theo Tarver, Overture Die Amazone by Kelster, Serenade Chiquita by Luders, Waltz Symphia by Holtzman, and March The Midshipman by Laor endean.
A mail pouch hung on a Payette crane for the eastbound No 18 train was reported missing after the 2:40 a.m. pickup. Inspector Clements of Portland is reviewing the ground for clues. operators say the pouch was routinely left on the crane minutes before arrival, making theft by a third party possible. The note also reports church notices and community updates.
C J Sebring probate judge of Canyon county died Saturday afternoon in a Boise hospital after a brief typhoid illness. He came to Caldwell as a law partner, later became probate judge, and funeral services were held Tuesday by the Odd Fellows. Body sent to Methamori Ohio. A separate note reports a $2300 currency package lost in the mail from Payette National Bank on June 20.
The Idaho families picnic is set at Meadows Goose creek with past and present employees and growers invited. Local notices mention fishing activity on the Payette River, visits by Col. James Barsard, and plans for the Payette Valley Railroad extension. The Ontario County Fair date moved to mid September due to a draw.

Alvin Hameet received word that his brother was dangerously ill at his home near Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and last Friday evening fled toward the Flyer that time opening for the east.
