AY Prindle Returns Home From French War

He enlisted at Denver with the SOU engineers and witnessed the Marne battles, escaping wounds while many peers were injured. Payette County to Host State Cattle and Horse Growers Convention

Last week Barnard Eastman secretary of the Payette County Commercial club attended Doise and of the State Cattle and Horse Growers Association. After a strenuous battle, the convention was awarded to Payette, bringing five to six hundred stock men to the county. The event promises to stimulate the stock industry and advertise Payette. The State Horticultural convention is also planned for Payette this year.

Four Flags film to be shown for soldiers free at Emma

A government approved moving picture titled Four Flags will be shown at Emma on Wednesday in March. It features action from French battlefields and is priced high but soldiers in uniform may enter free. A second similar movie is planned for April 28.

Captain Curtis R Gilbert of the 36th Infantry forwards a condolence letter to Charlie Moore of Hall Idaho for Private Lee E Moore 2158187 Company K 861st Infantry killed near Gesnes France during the Meuse Argonne Offensive on October 9 1918. Moore an Automatic Rifle Gunner died from shell fragments while advancing on Hill 255 and was buried on the battlefield. The letter notes his honorable death and directs contact with the American Battle Monuments Commission for burial records.

After an eight month struggle Mrs. Z W Gray died quietly on February 18 at 7 PM at her daughter Ms Reeder’s home in Halfway Oregon. Her passing ends a long period of illness for the family.
