Gas well at Otaike shows strong pressure rise from casing leaks
Idaho Oil and Gas Company reports its Otai kes well struck gas last week and forced soil into the casing. A demonstration burned gas from a perforated pipe for onlookers, flames reaching five to six feet, but burners could not handle full pressure. Driller has cleared dirt, drilled deeper into cap rock, and plans another demonstration. Leakage from 4 inch joints prompts plans to run smaller pipe to the eight inch casing to curb escape.
