OY Has Narrow Escape From Ice Slough
Eight year old Sheldon Turner son of Rev. and Mrs. George Turner fell through six feet of water while skating on the Pres tel slough. He saved himself by clinging to the broken ice edges until reaching shore, losing a skate in the attempt. A neighbor woman aided him and alerted his parents. A nearby skater crowd did not notice the incident until he was safe.
