Republicans from Payette and Caldwell work to separate the Payette Bridge controversy from state senate politics. A Nampa delegation pressed for a different Payette candidate, but local leaders chose harmony by nominating W. T. Crouch of Emmett for State Senate and withdrawing Pateli, aiming for a united Canyon County ticket and a bridge backed across the Payette River.

At the Payette Lodge K P of S regular meeting on August 2, officers for the ensuing term were installed. J H Welder served as District Deputy Grand Chancellor installing officer. The lodge, eighteen months old, shows a flourishing condition with sixty two members.

Grading Finished on Payette Valley Extension Line

The Payette Valley railway from New Plymouth to Emmett completed grading on Wednesday and awaits steel to finish the line. The roadbed extends several miles east of Falk's Store and the Punkin vine sounds will soon reach Ramet residents.

Miss Edith Anderson of Taylorsville Idaho bought a half interest in Mrs. Harrison's millinery shop on Boise street Payette. She is well acquainted with the millinery business and pledges to please customers. Also, Hon J L Seawell democratic candidate for congress returned home after three weeks in the northern state, attended Redmen council at Burke Idaho and was elected Great Representative to the United States Great Council to convene in Toledo Ohio. He plans a campaign through northern counties and Boise, returning home by pony this week.
