Boys Seriously Injured In Spill Near Payette
Clyde Cheek 11 and Carl Bartenhagen 15 suffered serious injuries Sunday afternoon when a frightened horned horse bolted from a barbed wire gate, throwing them into fencing. Both boys, at Cheek’s home east of Payette, were en route to a ball game with other youths. They were dragged across wires, sustaining deep cuts and lacerations. Cheek required six stitches on the chin and facial wounds, while Bartenhagen sustained facial and body wounds and a badly sprained knee.

US Railroad to Extend Trackage in Payette This Spring
The U S L Railroad Company will undertake extensive trackage improvements in Payette this spring. A passing track from the pumping station to Seventh Avenue will be extended north about 4,400 feet to the town’s edge, and a second passing track will run the length of the existing track, adding roughly one mile and a quarter of new siding.
