Culling pullets may boost fall egg income
Poultry expert H. H. Alp advises culling weak pullets before moving them to the laying house to improve fall and winter egg production. Indicators include low body weight, rough feathers, pale combs, and small size. Selecting vigorous birds can maximize egg output and allow better response to eye price levels for cast in the coming months.
