High School News Highlights From October Meetings
Students held class meetings on October 12 to pick queen and king candidates for the Halloween carnival on October 27. Freshmen Martha Manning Ellery Hawkins sophomores Marie Williams Jimmy Herrin juniors Ardith Briscoe Jack Bopp and seniors Carol Crawford Francis Hollingshead named as candidates. Senior pictures and organization photos were taken last Thursday. The fall F H A Rally is October 15 at Altamont Community High School with attendees departing Hopkins Cafe at 8 am. Three FFA officers from Patoka Chapter attended Officers Training School at Salem High School on September 28. The state FFA president and FRA treasurer spoke after dinner. Girls chorus has 32 members, boys 3, with a planned skating party early November. The band features Unchained Melody All the Things You Are Gobelites Pacific Waves and Melody, with Grand Canyon Suite upcoming. Sophomore bake sale and car wash plus Freshman bake sale scheduled for October 22.
