Fisk by Arthur Brisbane: British Prime Minister in America
Arthur Brisbane surveys Ramsay MacDonald, first Labour PM to visit the United States, and his old fashioned daughter Miss Ishbel MacDonald. The piece contrasts democratic America with conservative Britain and notes security issues from a Colorado prison revolt and rising prison drugs. It cites New York crime, drunkenness, and a North Carolina governor pushing better wages and shorter hours for textile workers.
