Sandoval PTA Opens Year With Guest Speaker Ben Jourdan
The Sandoval PTA held its first meeting of 1964-65 on Monday September 28 with the pledge to the flag and PTA prayer led by Ben Jourdan president of the school board. William Tammers introduced Jourdan and principal Mrs Purvis and the board members and teachers. Guest speaker Mrs Frank Braden tourism consultant for Illinois described tourism’s impact citing Carlyle Lake and a 1962 report showing Illinois earned 1.3 billion from tourism. He urged improving local communities to attract visitors.
