Cannibal Country and the rights debate in democracy
The piece argues that rights talk masks political favoritism where votes decide who is protected. Citing Micah, it contrasts Judah’s rural poor with Jerusalem’s rich, warning that long-term wealth concentration weakens nations. It urges testing justice, mercy, and protection for the weak, linking democracy to Jewish Christian heritage.

Devotional Reading: Micah and Psalm 12 in Focus
Scriptural excerpts Micah 1 2 3 6 7 are highlighted with emphasis on social justice, leadership failure, and true worship. The devotional ties Micah's calls for integrity to Psalm 12’s themes of truth, righteousness, and faithful speech. It invites reflection on how prophetic critique echoes in psalmic praise and petition.
