AAA Chairman Urges Holding to Program
Clyde St. Clair chairman of the Marion County Agricultural Conservation Committee urges farmers to stay within AAA corn acreage allotments. With about 700 million bushels in reserve, excess corn would depress prices and hurt the defense program. He cites Secretary Wickard’s advice to plant within allotments and notes 140 percent planting risks losing payments.
