Sandoval Community News Notes Church, Births, and Visits

The girl’s auxiliary of Fairman Baptist Church met after school with five members led by Opal Adams to plan a Sunbeam party for neighborhood children. Other items include Open House at Harold Foltz now Oliver Dealership, baptisms in Centralia, birthdays, illnesses, and family visits across Sandoval and nearby towns. Rodney Bowen’s premature infant son remained in hospital with hopes of home soon.

Bicycle Hike Planned By Patoka Panthers 4-H Club

At the March meeting 17 members and 7 guests attended led by Lee Griffin. They scheduled a bicycle hike for Sunday March 22 starting 1 30 p m at Larry Britts home and agreed a trip on The Admiral later. A skit for Share The Fun was assigned and talks covered Fallout Shelters For Farm Use and Weed Control in Corn and Beans.

Jehovah's Witnesses hold Olney circuit convention

A weekend gathering near Olney, Illinois drew Jehovah's Witnesses from Patoka area to the semi annual circuit convention. Highlights included a two hour film Proclaiming Everlasting Good News Around the World and a Sunday Bible discourse Facing Up to the Urgency of Our Times led by District Supervisor H C Good. He urged attendees to follow Jehovah's counsel and rely on the Bible as a guide amid what he described as urgent times and looming Armageddon.
