Pugh Dwelling Suffers Small Fire Near Kitchen Flue
At about 2 30 p m Friday Mrs Denver Adams found smoke inside the John Pugh home now occupied by the Adams couple. The blaze was confined to the kitchen flue area. Firefighters from Patoka assisted quickly and saved the dwelling. Roof around the flue was torn and walls and ceilings in two east rooms damaged by water.

Little Nellie May Crawford Undergoes Appendicitis Operation
Nellie May Crawford, daughter of Lee Crawford, who has lived with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Alcom since her mother’s death, suffered a serious appendix attack last Saturday. She was taken to Centralia hospital and operated on successfully. She is recovering well and hopes to rejoin her circle soon.
